Michael van Gerwen made it three wins out of four in the Premier League with a 6-4 victory over Nathan Aspinall in Newcastle.
Van Gerwen continues to be the man to beat in this year’s competition, defeating both Gerwyn Price and Luke Littler on his way to the final.
Aspinall took control early on in the decider, winning the opening two legs, but the Green Machine showed his class to fight back.
Aspinall then kept himself in the game with a brilliant ‘Big Fish’ to bring the match to 5-4, but Van Gerwen secured the 10th leg on D18 for the win and to look very handy at the top of the table.
